Full description
Snippets of yarn, combined with hand-dyed fibers, including lovely curly wensleydale tops and silk, have been felted to create this wildflower meadow. Hand embroidery adds the cornflowers, daisies, yarrow, buttercups and clover.
Sky blue wool fibers have been felted to a background of kunin felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles) using an embellisher machine. A wide variety of yarn snippets, carefully collected from other yarn projects, have been added to represent the meadow grasses. Stitching in fine cotton has been added to the sky and meadows to 'stabilise' the felting. Buttercups, daisies and speedwell are then added in embroidery threads using simple stitches.
The back of the piece is neatened by a second piece of felt in the top of which is stitched a felt sleeve. A dowel threaded into the sleeve allows for hanging ( this may be removed if you wish to frame the embroidery)

Please note this wall hanging may not be washed.
