I love the clever way these hares share their ears! The origin and meaning of this symbol is not totally understood, but is thought to be connected to fertility.

Full description
The Tinners' Hares symbol, found in many Devon churches, seen here pyrographed onto a vintage, hand-made cigar box. The box is exceptional quality, heavy and well worn to reveal a lovely natural pattern of wood.
The design is my own version of the three hares. I have given them happy faces as they leap around within a garland of ivy.
This item is unique, and will not be repeated.
