This striking pendant really makes a statement!

A one-off, unique design, handmade in my studio, which consists of two parts: the outer shape is hand pierced from solid 2mm thick Copper sheet, then finished by hand to a soft shine; the inner shape is independent of the first. This is also hand pierced, this time from 2mm thick Sterling Silver sheet, then hand finished to a smooth satin brushed finish, allowing for a lovely contrast of textures. The two shapes are held together with a simple oval ring made from 1mm silver wire, then suspended from 3mm thick black rubber cord, giving this necklace a very contemporary, minimalist feel.

The pendant is a substantial piece – the overall length of the pendant, including the bail ring is 60mm approx. It is 25mm wide at its widest point and 2mm deep. The necklet length is approximately 44cm (which is about 17.5 inches), and fastens with a Sterling Silver trigger clasp.

My ‘Sculptural’ designs are a collection of one-off pieces inspired by organic shapes in contemporary sculpture, particularly the wonderful large scale work by British 20th century sculptor and artist Barbara Hepworth. Mixing Sterling Silver with Copper not only gives a wonderful contrast of colour and adds warmth to the designs, but also means I can produce larger, more substantial statement pieces, allowing for more free flowing creativity!
