Any design from eclectic-arts.com can be commissioned , I can not reproduce any design exactly the same twice, though some get close, as each piece is hand cut from a unique piece of glass.. I will get as close to the design chosen as possible and will incorporate any suggestions for custom design work , like numbers or words if possible. Stones will take from 10 days to produce depending on how busy I am. I will keep you informed of estimated delivery date when you order and progress of your order ..
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
This concrete stepping stone is decorated with a stained glass mosaic featuring a Yin-Yang design.
Each circular stone is 30cm ( just under 12” ) across and about 32mm ( just over 1.25 inches ) thick. It should be bedded in the garden in the same way as any paving stone and can be left out all year. We have had several in our garden that have been through years of summers and winters with no ill effect and they are strong enough to stand on.
Product info
The mosaic is cut by hand from opaque stained glass and the pattern is assembled face down on an adhesive surface. The completed mosaic is placed in a mould and a strong concrete mix is poured over the back of the glass, filling the spaces between each piece. This is allowed to set for at least a couple of weeks before being treated all over with patio seal to protect it against water penetration.
We mainly use sheets of handmade opalescent glass from kog.com and spectrumglass.com
I use several basic layouts but the combination of my hand selection of colour together with hand cutting and positioning of each piece means that each stone is unique. I am also always working on developing new designs and working on commissions, see our website eclectic-arts.com contact us for other designs
