Full description
This old and hopelessly outdated encyclopaedia has a lovely mottled brown cover and a very wide spine, which made me want to turn it into a bag as soon as I saw it.
It is lined with a pastel green and blue floral print in 100% cotton.
- The closure is a pretty turquoise vintage button. button.
- Dimensions: length 20cm x height 15cm (30 including handles). Spine width is 8 cm.
- Spacious enough for an evenings essentials such as keys, phone and wallet.
- Handles are plastic coated in cloth.
- The spine is decorated with gold embossed text.
This bag is lightweight and strengthened inside with cardboard. The lining is stitched together and fitted using very strong permanent adhesive.
This is a very old book, so will show signs of use. It needs to be treated like you would an old book - taking it out in the rain will hurt it, for example. But as a bag it is fairly sturdy. It's more of a special occasion bag than an everyday bag, however.
It would make an ideal gift for a lover of books.
