I absolutely love flowers and I used to visit Columbia Road flower market often when I lived in London's East end. My Gran was a born and bred Eastender and so it is a special place for me.
The Flower market first opened in London in 1869 as a food market. Cut flowers and plants were introduced, together with a fascination for caged song birds. The pub at the end of the market is called the Birdcage which my friends and I used to frequent. Many of the traders are 2nd or 3rd generation of their family to sell at the market.
I wanted to capture the colour and feel of the mass of vibrant flowers within the market. I am very much inspired by vintage imagery and wanted to include a hint to the market's history, with the birds flying free. I love this print and always brings a smile to my face. Great for brightening any room, be it for the littl'uns or the young at heart!

Full description
This whimsical and beautifully designed hand-made organic cushion uses traditional hand-print methods. The 4 colour design is screen-printed using eco-friendly materials. The inks are water-based and fabric is a cream organic cotton and hemp mix.
This is now a sale item, originally priced at £62.00, and the listing is for the cushion cover only. Please contact me if you would like a cushion feather filler, which are £4.50.
The size is 40cms by 40cms, perfect size for your bedroom or living room. The back is plain and has a mid-way opening fastened and completed with a vintage button. The buttons I use will always be different, but well chosen.
Postage: I will send the parcel by first class post, which should take 3-5 working days in the UK, and more for overseas. Let me know if you'd like it sent next day delivery, or 2nd class instead. If the postage fee is any less than stated, I will happily refund the difference to you.
