Item details

Handpainted celtic swirl vase with vivid colours and traditional patterns. The thick outliner paint binds and protects having been baked in the oven to withstand washing. Washing these pieces is fine as long as it is gentle and not fierce scrubbing!
There is a gold glass droplet embellishment in the centre.

I love the sweeps and intricacy of traditional celtic patterns, images that have a history but are also vivid and beautiful. I was introduced to glass painting many moons ago in a youth club and loved the idea of taking clear, smooth glass and adding my own motif. The vase is chunky and stunning when light shines through the colours. As in all of my craft, I design things that I myself would want to own. Painting reminds me of youth and messy clothes and the symbols of my Irish roots.
