Full description
This print was inspired by collections in natural history museums, and old-fashioned book plates. The insects represented are distinctive British species:
Gold-ringed dragonfly
Seven spot ladybird
Buff-tailed bumblebee
Green tortoise beetle
Six spot burnet moth
Red ant
Stripey leaf hopper
Green tiger beetle
The picture is a hand-pressed linocut print, from a limited edition run of only 12 numbered prints. It is printed in black ink on white paper. The Insects are all hand-coloured using watercolours.
Printed area approx. 15 x 20 cm.
Mount size: fits 10x12 inch frame.
