This is HUGE! About 88mm long (nearly 3 1/2inches!) and 22mm at the widest point this solid glass leaf is ideal to make a statement!
Made with clear, rich red and yellow borosilicate glass (pyrex) it will in certain lights have hints of milky blue purples too.
This has been made entirely by hand by melting the glass directly in a superhot flame of propane and oxygen. I've given it that twisted effect as leaves sometimes go in autumn, as it is hand shaped rather than mould pressed it is a complete one off! I have then annealled it in a microprocessor controlled kiln to improve hardness (although it is glass so should be treated with care so it can last a life time or two!)
This would be ideal added to a silk or organza ribbon, a silver snake chain, or added to your own design jewellery as a bold focal point.
