“....The four-and-twenty sailors
That stood between the decks,
Were four-and-twenty white mice
With rings about their necks”
I designed the cover of this sketchbook inspired by the classic ‘Mother Goose’ nursery rhyme “I Saw A Ship A-Sailing”, featuring white mice sailors and a duck as captain, complete with his own sailor’s cap!
The design has been hand-drawn from my own illustration onto the cover of a Paperchase sketchbook, using black ink pens and gouache paints for the colour. This sketchbook would also be ideal as a photo album or scrapbook for a child; the pages are plain for you to do whatever you want to them!
Sketchbook specifications: The sketchbook is a Paperchase sketchbook, hardcover and spiral-bound with plain brown paper pages, which ties closed with a black ribbon. Measures approximately 8.5 x 6 inches (21.5 x 15.5cm).
I will include a printed copy of the nursery rhyme with the book.
