My friend Michelle taught herself to knit on the internet. I was really impressed, and chuffed to bits when she asked me if I would design a cushion for her to make. The brief was simple - irregular textured stripes, simple easy design, but with enough interest to keep her going, and a lovely cushion at the end of it to make all the effort worthwhile!
The textured stripe cushion has gone on to be my best seller, especially amongst beginner knitters and those returning to knitting after a long break. Surprisingly quick to make (the aran weight wool knits up nicely), and completed with three buttons (used as permanent fastenings) the finished cushion is a lovely addition to any armchair or sofa.

Full description
Simple stripe design in a combination of knit and purl stitches which is easy enough for the beginner knitter, but interesting enough for the more experienced. The cushion is knitted in one piece, and sewn together as an envelope, and secured with 3 wooden buttons (decorative only).
Knitting kit contains everything you need to create your own cushion, including easy to follow pattern, bamboo knitting needles, 200g aran weight wool, wooden buttons, cushion pad, sewing needle.
Available in a range of colours, all created by blending natural undyed 100% British wool from New Lanark Mill. Limestone is a pale natural grey, Ecru a soft cream, Pebble is a mid grey with brown tones, Sandstone is a soft mid brown, Gritstone is a dark grey with brown tones. Also available is New Natural, a warm almost pinky beige.
