I love old books and vintage paper, especially the effect of light passing through paper. So many books are unwanted these days, I love nothing more than to give their pages a new life, and so developed this idea of transforming them into a beautiful paper chandelier.

This beautiful "chandelier" style lampshade, has been carefully hand made using recycled vintage book pages from worn out or partly destroyed books.
The lampshade features approximately 75 hearts of varying sizes, which have all been individually cut by hand. The hearts have been cut from a wide range of vintage books, from old fashoned arithmetic to ancient maps and childrens illustrations. As each heart is cut from different pages, every one of these lampshades is totally unique, so you will not only be receiving a complete one off for your home, but some little snippets of history too!
The hearts are suspended on narrow ribbons and when making, I spend considerable time choosing and placing each one, to ensure a stunning overall look for the shade. The hearts overlap each other slightly, giving depth and a lovely shadowy appearance.
I use these shades in my own home and they have become a real talking point.

The shade measures 10"or 25.5cm across and is approximately 20" or 51cm deep.
Your shade will arrive safely packaged in a strong box. To allow the lampshade to be packaged, the paper rim will be sent as 3 flat strips with a peel off self adhesive strip. It will be necessary for the new owner to attach this once the lampshade is unpacked. Full instructions for this are included.
Must only be used with a low energy bulb - maximum wattage 13W, as confirmed by The Lighting Association.
