I love old books and vintage paper, especially the effect of light passing through paper. So many books are unwanted these days, I love nothing more than to give their pages a new life, and so developed this idea of transforming them into a magical shadowy forest lampshade.

Full description
This beautiful paper lampshade has been carefully hand made using recycled vintage book pages from worn out or partly destroyed books. The lampshade features 18 fir trees, all of which have been individually cut by hand. The larger trees are from a vintage illustrated dictionary, showing delicate black and white prints amongst the text. The smaller trees are from a vintage novel, with beautifully aged pages.
As all the trees are cut from different pages, each lampshade is totally unique and no two will ever be the same.
The trees hang from the frame on narrow ribbons, and are designed to overlap slightly, creating the shadowy effect of looking through the forest.
I use these shades in my own home and they have become a real talking point.

The shade measures 10"or 25.5cm across and is approximately 12"or 31cm deep.
Your shade will arrive safely packaged in a strong box with full instructions on how to hang it. To allow the lampshade to be packaged, the paper rim will be sent as 3 flat strips with a peel off self adhesive strip. It will be necessary for the new owner to attach this once the lampshade is unpacked. Full instructions for this are also included.
Must only be used with a low energy bulb - maximum wattage 13W, as confirmed by The Lighting Association.
