For a couple of years I have been re-working the British tradition of wearing pearls into something much more contemporary. Using genuine freshwater pearls and now silk ribbon, these simple pieces are fully adjustable and can be worn as either bracelets, anklets or necklaces - they look striking when layered together, but equally stunning on their own.
I am currently working with creamy white and iridescent black freshwater pearls and am totally fascinated the beauty and individuality of their markings and lustre.

Totally captivating genuine freshwater pearl and pure silk ribbon wraps look fabulous as bracelets and anklets in the summer - a contemporary take on a very British tradition.
Onto each ribbon I have threaded three 9mm genuine freshwater pearls – creamy white with a beautiful lustre which improves with wear as they come into contact with the natural oils in your skin. The pearls are not fixed and can therefore be adjusted into a position that best suits how you wish to wear your wrap - they will not however slip around freely.
The ribbons are 100% pure silk crinkle chiffon, over locked with Italian silk thread which gives a lustrous finished edge before being hand dyed in a variety of beautifully complementary colours and tones. All ribbon colours are evocative of an English summer - spring blossoms, stormy skies, cottage garden blooms, sunsets, rivers and seas.
The ribbons have been hand dyed with colourfast procion dyes which can be hand washed in mild soap flakes and lightly ironed if necessary. This particular ribbon wrap is a blend of slate blues and greys with subtle tones of dark lavender and measures approximately 12mm wide and 110cm long.
