Full description

This cosy merino wool cowl and fingerless glove set has been upcycled from a jumper in a beautiful deep plum shade. To see how I made this set and to view more pictures please follow this link to a tutorial I made on my blog:

http://chichideehandmade.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/monday-make-how-to-upcycle-old-jumper.html

The cowl, or infinity scarf as they are sometimes known, is a continuous loop that can be worn long or doubled up for extra warmth and snuggle factor. It is 30cm wide and 110cm in circumference. The edges have been left raw since the nature of the knit fabric means the edges curl in on themselves and do not fray.

The gloves are 47cm long and reach past the elbow. The tops have been hemmed for a neat finish and all raw edges have been overlocked for a neat and sturdy finish. The thumbholes have also been neatly hemmed and are comfortable.

I love cowls and armwarmers and wear them all the time both outdoors and inside while I'm working in my studio. I sit next to a window and I find wearing a cowl keeps out the draft but doesn't get in the way like a scarf or a shawl does. The armwarmers live up to their name but still allow me the dexterity to sew, knit, crochet, type and make. They are the perfect solution and I'm sure you'll love wearing them as much as I enjoyed making them.

Thanks for visiting my shop :o) If you have any questions feel free to message me!
