This is a fun piece; a decorative vessel with a cream-to-orange shino glaze. The body and spout were thrown on a momentum kickwheel, the handle and feet modelled by hand. Approx 6 inches long and 3.75 inches wide.
Fired in reduction to 1300 degrees centigrade. The glaze has crawled in places, which is part of the charm of Japanese shino.
Artist's initials "JMS" inscribed faintly to the underside.
I wouldn't really recommend this for pouring drinks, as the spout tends to dribble, but it could be used for sugar, salt, syrups, that kind of thing..or just for decoration.
