Maudie is rather a saucy little mermaid. I've made her without sketches or making a pattern... just freely cutting the fabric and without much idea of how she would evolve. I've used tea dipped calico for her body, green dotty cotton for her tail and cotton denim for her dress. She is filled with toy stuffing which meets British Standards. Her hair is jute twine.
Maudie is approx 15ins (38cm) tall.
All my mermaids have their own character and little imperfections add to this.... the way I like it :)
I must emphasise again that my mermaids are not toys so please do not buy them for small children. They do not meet the required toy safety standards or carry the CE label. They should NOT be given to children under 14 years old. I am more than happy for them to be purchased as decorative items :)
