I've always been fascinated by the way people interact and 'play' with the jewellery that they wear, usually when they are 'thinking deeply' or having a bit of a daydream!
I'm also really interested in mechanical engineering and the way things 'work', so the two have been linked together in my kinetic designs, to form unusual and, sometimes, intriguing jewels.

Inspired by the circular ripple patterns created when a stone is dropped into water, the kinetic charm on this bracelet features three rings which are cast in Sterling Silver from my original master patterns, then drilled to allow the central spindle to feed through. The rings are then free to spin around. The charm is completed with a Hematite Gemstone bead, with all of these components secured onto the spindle by a small silver bead soldered to the end. Wonderful for ‘fiddling’ in moments of deep thought or concentration!
The charm is approximately 20mm in diameter and 26mm in length overall (including the spindle and ring). The sterling silver bracelet is constructed from 10mm ring chain with a handmade toggle clasp fastening. Bracelet length is 19cm (7.5”) approx.
Hallmarked with my own maker's mark at the London Assay Office and presented in a Claire Wood Designer Jeweller gift box.
