I love experimenting with tiny shards of glass (called frit), and seeing what will happen to it under the heat of the kiln. The results are always unexpected, and I think that the random lacy patterns created within the glass are beautiful and intriguing. I'm excited that I've now found a way to incorporate these unique pieces of glass into wearable jewellery.

Looking like little bits of a waterfall, these earrings have been hand-made from blue fused glass.
To create these earrings I have spread crushed glass on to the kiln shelf. In the heat of the kiln, the pieces move around at random to create unusual, lacy watery patterns within the glass. These earrings are made from cobalt blue glass at the top, merging into turquoise and finally aqua blue at the bottom. I have wire-wrapped the glass at the top and added a sterling silver ear wire.
Although, these earrings are made from glass, they are as light as a feather and strong (as they have been heated to around 800 degrees). They measure about 6cm long and 0.5cm wide.
These earrings are made to order, so your earrings may not look exactly like the ones shown in the photograph, but will look just as intriguing and unique.
I will send them gift wrapped in tissue, with plenty of bubble wrap to ensure their safe arrival.
