This is an absolutely stunning trim woven in 100% hand dyed mulberry silk. The trim has been woven using the ancient technique of tablet weaving. This intricate pattern requires individual tablet to be manipulated creating a stunning effect. The trim is thin and has a lovely shimmer. It looks truly rich and sumptuous and would be perfect for re-enactors portraying a high status person.
I have dyed the silk by hand using natural plant dyes to create historically correct colours using indigo, madder and weld.
Length: 150 cm
Materials: Mulberry silk
This pattern is inspired by the sunrise. I love the dual colours and how they contrast with the dark blue background. It never fails to impress.
