Full description
A piece of ivory, vintage lace is stitched over chocolate coloured felt to from the background for the embroidered roses and buds on this textile brooch.
The lace is stitched in place onto the felt and the raw edges folded to the back. The roses are stitched in a knitting ribbon, shading through peach and pink. The buds are stitched from cotton perle in slightly paler versions of the same shades. Leaves and gypsophila, represented by french knots, are stitched in embroidery threads.
The brooch is stiffened by heavy weight interfacing. The back is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
Height: 6.5 cm approx
