Item details

A lovely A-line style shift dress in cream & brown with a russet ribbon along the empire line. Completed with a ruffle hem and a layered flower detail attached on the ribbon empire line.

Made from a pattern suitable for approximately a 1 year old. The dress measures around 47cm from shoulder to hem, & has a cotton blend upper bodice section with a knit stretch man made fibre floral pattern skirt.

The design is completed with a double hem frill, co-ordinating contrast buttons on the shoulders which do open up to allow easy dressing., a co-ordinating satin ribbon 'sash' & flower motif.

This is a unique one off, as the basic pattern has been adjusted to create my own pattern and I have very little of this fabric left (certainly not enough for another dress), & I believe the floral fabric was discontinued when I bought it.

I like to make childrens clothing that is different, colourful & unique.The most exciting part for me is the detailing. Every item even if similar in theme or colour is different due to the individuality in making it!!

I like children to wear bright colours, but wanted something different from the usual brights and primaries. There are occasions when bright colours aren't suitable, but you still want something special & individual. There aren't many clothing items for young children out there in a more subdued palatte (yet still with colour) but also incorporating the fun factor!

I know from experience little girls love frills, flowers and floaty clothing. I particularly liked this floral pattern & wanted to make something incorporating it but also adding a bit more colour & detailing.
