I love using an underlay image under the fabric in my shades to produce interest when the light is switched on making the item a completely unique object.
The pompom and ribbon edgings also add a lovely finishing touch to the shade.

Full description
This small lampshade features a red stripe cotton fabric that is edged around the bottom with a burgundy pompom effect edging. The upper inner edge of the shade is also edged with burgundy ribbon.
When the lampshade is lit up a small flock of birds are visible flying around the shade. The birds that feature are created by a carefully hand cut image being placed between the fabric and the lampshade lining. When unlit the birds are only very slightly visible.
The photographs above show the shade both lit and unlit. This lampshade would make a lovely bedside lampshade or would be an interesting feature in the corner of any room.
The cotton has been carefully hand rolled onto a flame retardant PVC backing. The lampshade wire is epoxy coated and has a 30mm UK fitting which fits most small lampshades.
The shade will be covered in a protective cellophane wrapping for delivery and this should be removed before use.
