Full description

Tiny artificial flower spray with fabric petals and dipped plaster seeds on nylon stems, wrapped in stiffened crinkly paper and mounted on a gold-coloured metal brooch pin. Size, 7.5 cm long, and about 2 cm wide.

The little cream flowers were originally intended for use as part of a cake decoration. They were found among stock which had been left over when David Bloor finally closed his flower-making business, W.F.Johnsons, at the end of the last century. The firm had been passed down to him by his Great Uncle, and still used the same Victorian tools and methods to make artificial flowers by hand. David passed away in 2005, but some years later, a new generation of Bloors, Tom Bloor and his daughters, Joanna and Louise, re-imagined these floral pieces, and reworked them by hand as a bunch of miniature flowers. Wrapped in coloured paper, as if bought from a tiny florist's shop, the flowers have been mounted as a brooch on a conventional metal brooch pin. Add a dash of colour and originality to your lapel with the bunch o' flowers brooch!
