This gentle soap is coloured using swirls of alkanet root - a natural plant, and therefore its colour may vary from very light lavender to a slightly deeper colour. Apricot Kernel Oil has been used over the centuries for its healing and conditioning properties. It helps make the skin feel softer and reduces roughness and irritation. Lavender is renowned for its calming and relaxing properties.Perfect for all skin types but especially sensitive, dry or mature skin.

I wanted to make a soap that not only smelled of lavender, using lavender essential oil, but a soap that would have some colour, but it needed to be natural. I came across alkanet, a plant which is used for colouring in the food industry and which gives a distinctive lavender/blue colour in soap and acts as a very mild exfoliant. The lavender oil provides a soothing, calming scent to the soap and the apricot kernal oil, which is often sought out for its high vitamin E and A content and skin softening properties, makes this a perfect soap mature, dry or irritated skin. The apricot kernel oil is thought to help skin retain elasticity, clarity, and suppleness.
