This beautiful exhuberant red recycled sari silk ribbon is a by product from silk sari manufacturing in India. It is the waste silk sari fabric from the textile mills where they make saris.

This yarn is hand cut strips of silk sari fabric and tied together end to end and made into skeins. It is done by women's co-operatives and small businesses in India, suitable for Knitting, crochet, rug hooking, bags, wall hangings, jewellery, weaving and all sorts of fibre art projects.

It is fabulous to knit with BIG needles, and crochet with. It is tough and durable as well as exotic and unique. Let your imagination go wild. This is a truly magical artisan recycled yarn.

They have been produced by women's small businesses and cooperatives in India, giving women a way to work and earn an income. This silk yarn is an inspiration to fibre and textile artists!
