Heraldic Artist and Calligrapher in Glasgow.
I design and handpaint paint single or double initial letters in colour (or in 23c gold leaf or Palladium leaf for silver) for handmade Birthday or Wedding Anniversary gifts.
As well as handpainted letters, I also have fantasy animal cards, calligraphy placemats and a selection of calligraphy giclée art prints of sayings and quotes including a selection from JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings..

I am a trained heraldic artist and calligrapher and you can imagine how often I have had to paint lion rampants, especially up here in Scotland - let me just say many times!
The lion rampant is synonymous with Scotland and I like to have some heraldic beasties amongst my handpainted initials so here is an example to let you see how wonderful they look when combined with a real gold leaf initial letter,
I can gild any letter and am happy to paint the lion in any colour, just get in touch and tell me what you would like.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Full description
Initial letter Z gilded and burnished in fine 23c gold leaf, handpainted with an heraldic red lion rampant on high quality watercolor paper and framed within an ivory mount.
The red lion rampant is a universally-known heraldic symbol of Scotland and Scottish-ness, so if there are any Scots in your life they will instantly recognise the significance of it!
Finished size is 120 x 120mm or 4 and 3/4" square, including the mount.
Orders will be sent within 3 - 5 days of being placed and paid for - by First Class if sent within the UK and by Airmail if sent outside of the UK.
