Full description
Three hand made artificial daisies (around 20mm in diameter) on a 260mm silver-plated chain with a screw-clasp finding for ease of fastening.
Perfect for the summer, an ankle chain strung with artificial daisies made from lawn cotton with a wire and plaster centre. The original flower shapes were cut out and veined by David Bloor, last of the flower makers, using genuine Victorian tools and methods, possibly as long ago as the nineteen eighties. They were probably intended to be made into theatre props. The pieces were rediscovered and put together by Tom Bloor in the twenty-first century, using the methods learnt from his father David. The little flowers were then adapted to fit onto a gold plated chain. The design was decided on by Tom and his daughters, Joanna and Louise, making this a piece of three-generational craft, incorporating both the hand-made and the vintage in one charming ankle decoration.
