‘Bel Espirt’ (beautiful mind) Purple clematis brooch.
In Victorian Times a bloom or bunch of flowers could express admiration or secret messages without a single word being uttered. The Clematis symbolised ‘mental beauty’. What free thinking maiden wouldn’t want to be told her mind was admired!
Gorgeous clematis brooch made with good quality dark purple and lavender wool mix felt, frayed purple organza, glass pearls and all embroidered using gold embroidery thread. Two embroidered green tweed leaves nestle behind the bloom.
The brooch has been sewn by hand and the silver plated brooch plate has been sewn and glued to reinforce it. This has all been concealed at the back under the Gracie label as shown in the pictures.
Brooch measures 8cm at its widest point.
Would look lovely on a waistband, hat, lapel, hairband or any other place you fancy.
Comes gift wrapped as shown in the picture and would make a wonderful gift. If you want the tag left blank; just message me before purchasing.
Each 'gracie make' is lovingly sewn by hand and often feature vintage materials so no two pieces are ever exactly same.
Your chosen 'gracie make' will wing itself off to you within 48 hours of the payment clearing.
