Paper lanterns have long been symbols of joy and celebration; they provide a festive and colourful addition to any room:) When I found a vintage map book falling apart I knew the pages would make a unique item.

Full description
A gorgeous paper lantern created from a vintage world atlas.
A salvaged copy of the 'Intermediate Historical Atlas for Schools' dated 1961 has been re-purposed to create this lampshade.
The lampshade is made by applying handcut circles to a round paper shade with a wire structure inside so the finished lantern is quite strong and durable.
Each lantern is unique: yours may differ from the one featured as the pages are original and not duplicated. It looks lovely hanging up and amazing when lit.
The listing is for the paper shade only and is designed for use with a standard ceiling pendant type lamp holder.
The lantern is created with a 12 (30.5cm) diameter paper lampshade; the finished circumference is approx 37". The maximum light bulb recommended for this size paper lantern is a 60 watt bulb.
Packaged for shipping in a strong mailing box, carefully wrapped to arrive safely.
