I dye the aluminium which can achieve quite random effects. I then use the colours and lines to decide what kind of illustration would suit the piece.
I love to draw and lately I've been playing around with patterns and combining them with the great putdoors . I use permanent ink to hand draw the illustration onto the aluminium and then finish the metal by hand. The colour is striking but also manages to be subtle and could be worn with lots of different colours.

A quirky round aluminium brooch with an illustration of patterned fields, a farmhouse and birds. The brooch is hand dyed in turquoise and comes attached to a card with it's own gift envelope.
