Full description
A reclining fool with half shut eyes is surrounded by menacing faces. A serene figure watches over him.
This plate is made from textured stoneware clay and the imagery is etched into the surface. This is then decorated with various oxides, slips and glazes.
The back of the plate is decorated in the same bluey green glaze.
This is one of my earlier pieces made in 1995.
Dimensions: 270mm or 11" diameter and 25mm or 1" deep.
