Citrine is also known as the 'cuddle quartz' and is a sister of amethyst. Indeed, the two are found together as ametrine. It comes in a lovely range of colours, from clear pale lemon to darker, gold shades.
Citrine belongs to the quartz family, and is a silicone dioxide. The yellow colour comes from iron in the rock. It has been used from ancient Greek and Roman times, when it was popular as cabochons and intaglios.
As a healing stone, citrine belongs to the fire element and works with the lower chakras, root or muladhara, sacral or swadisthana and solar plexus or manipura. It helps us be our true selves. In terms of physical healing, citrine enhances our energy levels and supports the endocrine function. This brings proper metabolic balance which improves our overall health.

Full description
This necklace is a handmade pendant held on a coated dark brown memory wire choker. I hand crocheted the pendant using silver plated wire threaded with citrine chip beads. The pendant measures approx 7 cms across by approx 4 cms deep and it is suspended from the choker with silver plated jump rings. The necklace has a secure barrel fastening.
