I have named this small tote bag after my ten-year-old niece, Emily. I know she is a great fan of my bags and would like this one particularly!
The tote has been made from some very pretty cotton fabric that I found in my stash. The colours are pale blue, pale green, pale yellow with pink, yellow, white and green floral motifs scattered about the fabric. I have teamed it up with some pink cotton fabric for the facing. I have stitched some vintage braid on to the facing.
Inside the tote I have used the same fabric, but used the floral fabric as the facing and the pink cotton as the lining. There is a generous internal zipped pocked (white zip) and a magnetic clasp closure. The tote has been interfaced to give it structure. The self fabric straps are long enough for the tote to be carried over the shoulder comfortably.
Although the tote is small, it is big enough to carry all those essentials bits that women or girls like to carry around!
The colours remind me of warm summer days, the beach, ice-cream in the park and lazy Saturdays!
The tote has been handmade to a very high standard and will not disappoint!
