Inspired by this vintage yarn from my stash to create this nubbly textured forest green cap , great for country walks , gardening. Ideal cover up for less than perfect hair too. The polished wood button reminds me of a conker, chestnut - or as they say in Fr acne 'marron'.

A unique, hand knitted wool head wrap in a lovely dark green.
For this one i used a recently discontinued Brtish yarn , around 2003 i think, yarns from my stash.
This high quality boucle (curly) yarn is 53% wool 29% acrylic 18% polyester . I've knitted it in a double strand for warmth and thickness.
Fastens at the back with a large polished wood button from Italy . This headband can be placed on the head and then buttoned without dragging and ruffling your hairstyle. Great for pony tails and 'up styles' and looks good as a retaining band with long loose hair
and ......it will keep your head and ears warm and snuggly.
to fit the AVERAGE head, 21- 22 inches , with some stretch in the knitted fabric. Fit can be further adjusted by moving the button - rarely necessary.
Warm, soft feel, thick knitted fabric finished with a neat crochet trim.
May be hand washed. As always , I have washed and air dried this cap for a perfect finish.
