I love the effect of light on glass, especially shining through coloured glass.
Also I always feel relaxed and content after viewing stained glass windows and I wanted to bring a little of that serenity into the home.
I chose a more geometric style to bring a modern ordered twist to the style of these candle vases, as an alternative to the randomness of some of the other items I make.

Made using hand cut stained glass pieces this vase/candle holder comprises of mixed colours of stained glass cut into 1cm squares and cold fused in a simple geometric pattern onto a shaped glass vessel, and completed with a black cementing grout.
The combination of the mixed colours and black gives an effect resembling the stained glass windows in churches. When lit this candle vase emits a beautiful light which is very appealing.
The candle vase is fully water proof so when not being used for candles, can easily be used for flowers.
Suitable for use outside in warmer weather to prolong a warm summers evening, or to give a cosy glow on a winters night snuggled by the fire. A decorative piece for all seasons.
As the candle vase measures approximately 105mm wide and 95mm high, it can utilise both traditional T-light candles, and the larger types, which can also come in scented varieties, potentially giving you a double sensory experience. The height also affords it a safety advantage when used with very short or T-light candles.
