Full description
Yew wood has long been prized for its beauty and rarity. This totally unique small Yew bowl has been turned from a local tree that was estimated at 800 years old. The colours are fantastic ranging from the soft creamy sapwood and range of rich browns through to a beautiful deep pink-mauve. On all sides and angles there are features of interest in its remarkable grain, including a remnant of bark in the sapwood and an ancient crack that was been filled long ago, during the life of the tree.
A one of a kind and rare piece.
After turning the wood has been sanded silky smooth then sealed and finished with natural carnauba wax before buffing to a beautiful high sheen.
A beautiful addition to any room and would make an ideal gift or a treat for yourself.
