Full description
A solution of imidazole (a chemical which is very close in structure to the amino acid Histidine) was evaporated on a microscope slide to form crystals. By viewing these crystals using polarised light microscopy, amazing and interesting colours and patterns are seen. This is due to the crystals forming regular arrays and interfering with the light path to give the colours seen (no colours were changed using Photoshop).
Nickel plated brass cufflinks printed with a microscope image covered with an acrylic dome.
Presented in a gift box with a description of the image.
Designed by Neil Taylor
