We think this chair would make a beautiful addition as a single chair in a bedroom and the price given here is per chair, as we are willing to sell them individually. However, if you would like to buy them as a set, perhaps to be used once again as a dining set, we would be willing to reduce the overall price. Please do not hesitate to contact us in this regard.

Full description
This is a set of four beautiful Edwardian dining chairs that have been re-upholstered to the highest standard using traditional techniques. The frames are made of oak and have been French polished and waxed retaining their beautiful original patina and the warm signs of their age. They have carved decoration, including mouldings, little scroll motifs crowning the seat back stiles and a beautiful art nouveau detail on the top of the seat back. The front legs also have brass casters with their original hard glass wheels. The seats have been completely and fully re-upholstered in the same way they would have originally been done, using amongst other materials, traditional springs, animal hair, hessian, etc, in a manner which is a work of art in itself! (contact us if you want to see more pictures of the re-upholstery process). The final fabric used in the seat and at the front of the seat back is silk in a beautiful shade of orange with golden and green floral motifs very reminiscent of Indian textiles. The outside face of the back seat panels have been recovered using a beautiful golden cream raw silk fabric. Please note that the wooden frame has some marks of its age, but these we think do not detract from the beauty of the chairs but, in fact, add to their character and original patina.
