I make up my own designs for my amigurumi creatures and quite often adapt the shape of the pieces as I work depending on the yarn and colours I’m using. So the resulting creature doesn’t always fit into a regular animal category – it’s often a mix of various creatures but nearly always something cute!

Meet Sweetie – she’s a bit like a bunny rabbit and a bit like a bear…
This little cutie measures 16cms from ear tips to feet and has been made to my own design. She’s been made using the Japanese style of crochet, Amigurumi. This method is very neat as it is worked in a spiral - there are no seams, just a hole at the end of each piece that can be stuffed and then sewn closed.
I’ve used a bright pink wool mix yarn for the main colour and lime green for her face and hands. She has matching pink safety eyes and a black felt nose. Sweetie is stuffed with polyfil.
