Full description
This is a Celtic design tooled leather drinking flask, hand stitched and tooled and coloured with acrylic inks. It is based on the style of bottle found on the Mary Rose.
It is made from 4mm vegetable tanned leather and made waterproof by hot dipping in molten beeswax.
It holds just over 1 litre of liquid and can be used for any cold liquid (including alcoholic beverage).
The stopper is individually made to ensure a perfect fit.
It will make an excellent gift for someone who likes the great outdoors and who favours traditional materials over modern commercial plastics.
The method of construction, and the hot waxing process make this bottle almost indestructible.
If it does get crushed, simply warm it in a low oven until it softens, reshape it and allow to cool again. Good as new.
