I love making handbound books. Stab-stitch is a traditional Japanese binding method. I also rather like cakes, so quite enjoyed making this lovely little notepad!

Full description
A cute cupcake notepad, perfect for a little girl’s stocking filler. This notepad is part of my Dear Duck Illustration range.
This is an original design featuring a yummy cupcake. It is hand drawn with pen and painted with watercolours on quality 300gsm watercolour paper.
There are 50 pages/100 sides of plain white, recycled paper inside (80gsm) plus two sheets of pink endpapers. The front pink sheet has a daisy motif cut into the bottom right corner. The back of the notepad is off-white thin card.
The pages are then hand bound using stab-stitch binding. The thread is pale pink, co-ordinating nicely with the painting and endpapers.
The notepad measures approximately 4” x 3” / 10.2cm x 7.6cm.
It will be packaged very carefully. I post by Royal Mail 1st class within the UK and by airmail internationally. I try to reuse envelopes wherever possible.
