I really love bird shaped jewellery and crafts, and you will find a few of these little birdies flying around my store. I wanted to make something pretty and elegant, but that also appealed to the lover of chunky jewellery in me!

Full description
This kitsch, yet elegant wood and resin bird brooch has been lovingly hand crafted to create a one off piece for yourself, or perhaps as a gift.
The brooch starts life as a lasercut wooden shape, which is then sanded and smoothed by hand. The surface design is a delicate paper collage, created from my personal collection of paper ephemera. This particular bird features collaged images of insect wings and other interesting greenery, repurposed into a stand out bird brooch!
The bird is then coated with a crystal clear resin - which sets in a lovely domed shape and protects the surface from damage - and attached to a silver plated brooch pin.
The bird is approx 4cm wide by 2cm tall. The edging shows smooth, solid birch and the reverse is painted green. The gorgeous green collage is lovely and bold and guaranteed to catch people's eye! Perfect for lovers of kitsch, colourful and original jewellery!
