Item details

A rustic, hand-pressed elimination print in sea blue and black ink, with other colours painted on in watercolour. This print is from a limited edition run of just 12 prints. The black ink is printed over the blue, which will show through in places.
The printed area is 15 x 20cm. The outside mount size is 8 x 10 inches.

The distinctive male eider duck, with the subtle warm blush on its breast feathers, and green-tinged neck, has inspired me on more than one occasion. Perhaps not on the occasion when I went to rescue an injured duck from a garden, and was a bit surprised to find a large and aggressive male eider, which eats crabs for breakfast but was prepared to try my fingers! I managed to free it from the fishing net which was wrapped around it's legs (with the help of leather gauntlets), and hopefully it is now one of those tranquil ducks bobbing on the ocean.
