I love books, stationery and photography. This book combines these things into a unique and fun notebook. I wanted to use my glass painted images in a new way and thought it would be fun to make them into notebooks and journals.

Full description

A cute handbound book which will make a delightful gift for a frog lover. Perfect for notes, journalling, sketching, doodling or all your creative ideas...

This A5 (approximately 15.5cm x 21.5cm / 6” x 8.5”) book has 7 signatures with 70 pages/140 sides in total. Most pages are 100% recycled white 80gsm paper. The inside covers and the ‘cover’ of each signature are a pale green. There are also several pages of co-ordinating coloured and slightly textured pages in paper and thin card. The book’s covers are made from 1000 micron greyboard and covered in green mulberry paper.

On the front is my Frederick Frog image which is stitched around the edge with green thread onto recycled green fabric.

I have bound the book using Coptic stitching, an ancient stitching technique, which is decorative and allows the book to lay completely flat; ideal for sketching. I’ve used bright green thread to bind the book and it is held closed with a lily pad button that I’ve made from polymer clay. It can be tied closed with the green ribbon.

Other features include a ribbon bookmark and a green/yellow leaf print envelope attached to the inside front cover, so you can store any little bits and pieces that may inspire you to fill the rest of the book.
