SUBTLE SHADES OF GREEN
I have knit this lovely long scarf with fair trade yarn from Manos del Uruguay. It is a blend of merino wool and silk and is deliciously soft and warm. It is subtly shaded and one end has been adorned with tiny green beads and a flower button. The scarf measures 16cm wide and 200cm long (approx).
Manos del Uruguay
The yarn is supplied by Manos del Uruguay, a fair trade organisation, which helps women in rural communities to achieve economic independence. It is the only organisation in the world to supply fair trade yarn. Each scarf will be supplied with a label, signed by the woman who dyed the yarn, proof of origin - a nice touch, I think.
Please note that the scarf should be hand washed and dried flat. It may lengthen with wear.
