A sterling silver pendant with a silhouette of a robin red breast.
The Robin is considered to be an animal of divine service, in Christianity a robin is said to have sat on the shoulder of Jesus on the cross and sung to aid his suffering, a drop of blood from the crown of thorns is said to have stained his breast red. In more pagan traditions the Robin is seen as a symbol of growth and renewal. Christmas cards often feature a Robin, this is due to the fact that they not only stay within the UK and Ireland during the winter, but are joined by migrating birds from Scandinavia boosting their numbers at this time of year.
This pendant measures 2.4cm by 1.7cm and has a mass of 2.6g, the entire piece has been hammered for texture and comes suspended on an 18 inch sterling silver chain.
The pendant is of course hallmarked and ready for dispatch; my items are hallmarked with the Birmingham Assay office.
This item also comes beautifully packaged in my newly sourced 100% recycled boxes. As with any of my items if this is a gift and you would like a special message included, just let me know.
