Generally speaking, Freshwater Pearls are not as round as salt water pearls. However their organic shapes add character to their natural beauty.
Freshwater Pearls appear in a wide variety of shapes and colours. They also tend to be cheaper than salt water pearls.
Because Freshwater Pearls are solid nacre they are quite durable, resisting chipping, wear, and degeneration. These factors make them very popular with designers.
