A small dark red handbag made from a book.

This delightful bag is made from a well loved copy of a vintage children's book from the 1920s. The sage green letter print cotton lining is chosen to complement the rich dark red of the cover.

Although the book looks somewhat battered, sides and spine are fully strengthened with strong cardboard and glue, so it is reasonably strong.

Dimensions: 20cm x 13cm x 5cm. With handles, it is 30cm high, or about 14-15 inches.

The bag closure comprises elastic cord and a vintage black glass button.

The bag is carefully made and finished to be a fully functioning and reasonably durable bag. All elements of the bag are firmly glued in place over a period of days to achieve a maximum-strength bond.

The spine and sides are strengthened with cardboard before the lining is fitted to give rigidity and strength. You can put things in this bag without the bottom sagging at all.

This would make a perfect gift for a book lover!
