Full description
This wooden box measures 14cm x 9cm and is 5cm tall.
It has been altered to look like an old vintage box using images on the theme of postcards, travel and America. Words like "Grand Canyon", "Arizona" and "washington" can be made out on the images and postal marks for places like Kansas etc. the front knob is made from a metal bottle cap with a charm coin attached inside. the coin has the letter "J" cut out of it and the word "Journey" embossed/engraved on it.
the edges of the box and some of the flat areas have been deliberately distressed and made to feel / look rough to the touch to increase the impression of age.
it has a metal book plate on the lid as well as ornate filigree metal corner embellishments. similar but smaller corner embellishments have been added to the sides and front.
A coat of protective varnish was then added again i a rough and distressed manner.
